Cryptic Crawlers

Cryptic Crawlers is Taupō’s twist on a scavenger hunt meets pub crawl. Start your adventure by collecting your Mission Pack and Briefing from Confinement Taupō, then set off on your CBD crawl. Take your time and enjoy the journey, this one is more of a crawl than a race.

Each stop along the way will reveal a clue or puzzle box that leads you to the next location. You’ll spend around an hour at each venue, uncovering secrets, solving riddles, and piecing together the storyline.

Your mission is to decode and follow the instructions, pinpoint the next destinations, and gather essential intel. The goal is to deliver the prized recipe to your client before it falls into the hands of your competitors.

The first team to successfully hand over their completed recipe at the final location will be crowned the winners. As a reward, the last stop will treat all teams to a sample cocktail, but only if you have cracked the code correctly.

Here is the story behind your mission, if you choose to accept it:

A distinguished scientist, known for crafting innovative cocktail recipes, has made a groundbreaking discovery. His latest concoction has the power to revolutionise the entire entertainment industry. Aware of the attention his work has attracted, he has taken extreme measures to protect it. Using cryptic clues and coded instructions, he has hidden the prized formula somewhere within the Taupō CBD.

Word of his discovery has leaked, and competitors are closing in fast. Fearing for his safety, the scientist has reached out to your team, experts in problem solving and quick thinking. He will provide your group with encrypted instructions scattered across town. Your job is to decode them, uncover each location, and follow the trail before the competition gets there first.

Your mission is to decode and follow his clues, pinpoint key locations, collect vital data, and deliver the prized recipe to his client before it is compromised.

As several venues are involved, tickets are sold pending confirmation. A deposit of $40 is taken at the time of booking, and full confirmation will be provided within 48 hours. Full payment is required once your booking is confirmed.
